Ever since I was 12 years old and the only thing I wanted for my birthday was a Lacoste jacket, I dreamed about working in fashion retail. I landed my first job when I was 16 years old and never changed industry.
Unconsciously the clothes I wore gave me confidence. The sales job in the store gave me the opportunity to do the same for other people.
In 2006 another dream came true when 2 partners and I started our own wholesale company and became entrepreneurs. 10 years later we are active in over 40 markets, sell to hundreds of retailers and have over 250K consumers in the combined database.
The journey was amazing and gave me great pleasure but it didn't make me happy. I realised that being a white label supplier is about selling products and operational excellence more than anything else. My entrepreneurial dreams were different, so I quit.
I dream of Valor being a purpose driven company that maximises value for a limited amount of clients. Not by creating something radically new but by re-imagining the traditional retail model in a way it truly solves problems and fulfils needs.
